Producing innovative projects is presented among the international requirements and necessities to increase the young generation’s interest towards science and to endure the continuity of technological rise in this day with the technology has rapidly spread among the individuals and renovation and development processes has become shorter. Services supporting scientific development and production activities are carried out in our country in order to have our young people involved in educational, scientific, artistic and cultural activities in their leisure times and to support services contributing to production activities. Cekmekoy Municipality organizes a Science Olympics renewed every period, to contribute to the international high school level interaction in order to increase the efficiency of our county as well as complying with the vision of our country.

 

PROJECT OBJECTIVES

 

  • Supporting International High School Level Interaction.
  • Contributing to the interaction with Turkish Abroad and Related Communities.
  • Increasing the interest of our young people in science, culture and art.
  • Popularizing and generalizing the innovative culture among the young population can be shown among the main objectives of our Project

 

PROJECT REASON

 

Çekmeköy Municipality has undertaken a universal responsibility to transform the world of today, where ethnic and ideological divisions and boundaries are determined, into a livable world in peace. It is aimed to hold an organization in which international dialogue environments will develop, a generation that innovative technologies will be effective in the international arena will grow up, and a blue globe will come together in peace. For these reasons, an International Science Olympics project has been carried out in order to accomplish the goals determined by the vision of Innovative and Productive Youth, Productive New Generations.

 

High school students and university students from all countries can participate in the competition. In order to obtain valid references in students’ countries, a cooperation has been established with Universities in Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia and America.The authority to be awarded is to accredit the title and grades (country first, continental grade, etc.) to those who qualify to participate in the final exhibition, and the grades to be credited.

Scientific Innovation Competition will be organized in 3 different categories with the aim of achieving our targets within the activity to be performed. Establishment and development of an international dialogue environment will be ensured. It is thought that the interest of the young population and the future work potential will be affected by such meetings. The organization planned in this framework is justified in line with the determined objectives.

Dear my Young Brothers and Sisters,

 

It is the desire to produce the differences that will enable human beings to develop, renew and provide technical superiority that illuminates the darkness and ends the glacial age. We have transformed these feelings, which have left a mark in our genetics in the 21st century, into a constantly evolving and growing content with the concept of “technology”. The technology supported by globalization will continue to expand its activity field tomorrow, becoming prevalent as the most important culture that makes our life easier. With this vision, we are spreading on effort to educate and support young scientists who will provide the protection of the blue globe that has seen two world wars, and to transform tomorrows into an atmospheric space where fertile and clean technologies are used.

 

In the competition toward the future our Municipality aspires to be able to direct the future of our country and our world, and to introduce our children to science and technology at an early age.The International Science Olympics project, which we have accomplished, aims to buildthe technology of the future and the world of the futurewith regard to science and peace. For this reason, we think it would be appropriate to name the project after Aliya Izetbegovic.

 

Aliya Izetbegovic is not just a statesman who keeps Bosnia and Herzegovina alive and revives the Muslim peopledespite all kinds of hardships and treachery, who areunder attack to be broken up and be destroyed! Because he is a wise, an Islamic thinker who devotes his whole life to the salvation of all the Islamic society in deep suffering. At the same time, Aliya Izetbegovic is a guiding force beyond his leadership qualities. The wise leader is the founding President of the Bosnian Herzegovina State, who is loved and respected by all humanity for his written works, political struggle and determination.

 

With this and many more reasons, we aim to remind and introduce to the new generations the “Wise Man” Aliya Izetbegovic with hisknowledge, wisdom, virtue and insight, as well as his characteristics such as struggle life, fortitude and resistance spiritwith the project that we will carry out with the name of “Çekmeköy Municipality Aliya Izetbegovic International Science Olympics” in 2017. We are working to envision a future that is shaped by technology that peace has prevailed with aninternationally accreditedscience Olympics, so that our young people can accumulate a high level of intellectual capital adorned with virtue by being loyal to the origins of the peace and justice and having the knowledge to shape the future through the traditions.

 

As Çekmeköy Municipality, we know that the values that shape tomorrow will grow in today’s young people and we are working without boundaries to educate just, peaceful generations who know their history. Because science is the main food of today for change and development. For this reason, I would like to congratulate our young brothers and sisters who will grow up with science and will lead our future, and wish you success in your studies.

Ege University Solar Energy Institute Energy Technology Department

 

He was born in 1969 in Akhisar. He graduated from İzmir Mithatpaşa Technical and Industrial Vocational High School in 1986. He completed Marmara University Electrical Education Department of Technical Education Faculty in 1990. He worked as a technical teacher in The Ministry of Education for a period of 3 years from 1990-1993. Between the years 1993-2000, he kept working as a Lecturer and head of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department in Atatürk University. In 1999, he completed his master’s thesis “Output Harmonics Suppression and Input Power factor correction of Uninterruptible Power Supply” in Kocaeli University Institute of Science and Technology. Furthermore, between 1997-1998 he served as a visiting scholar Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department at Victoria University (Melbourne/Australia). From 2000-2003 he assumed Celal Bayar University Deputy Director of Kırkağaç Vocational School. In 2006, he completed his PhD education “System Optimization of The Autonomous PM Generated Wind Turbines by Artificial Neural Networks” in Ege University Solar Energy Institute. Between the years of 2003-2007, he worked as a lecturer at Ege University Ege Vocational School. In 2007, he started working as an Assistant Professor at Ege University Solar Energy Institute. At the same time he founded the Wind and Renewable Hybrid Energy Systems R & D Group under the Department of Energy Technology. Since 2010, he is a Board Member of Solar Energy Institute. In 2011, for 3 months, he served as a visiting researcher at The University of Melbourne (Melborne/Australia) Faculty of Science. On 03/20/2015, he received the title of associate professor and authority in the field of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. He is still continuing his academic studies in the Department of Energy Technology, which studies Renewable Energy Basics, Wind Energy Conversion Systems, Wind-PV Hybrid Power Systems, Electrical Machinery, Electrical and Power Electronics. From 2007 to today, it has been graduated four Masters and 5 PhD students by him. 4 scientists of his doctoral students serve as an assistant professor in various universities. At the same time he carries out his consultancy of 18 master’s and doctoral students. In addition, he has served in executive positions for 12 projects, advised on 12 projects and made a researcher for 5 projects within national and international R & D projects (EU, TUBITAK, RDAs, SRP, etc). However, he did refereeing of 15 TUBITAK R & D projects. There are already ongoing and application stages his new projects. In 17 different Scientific Seminar/Conference organizing events, he made a member of the organizing committee, a member of the scientific committee and panelist task. He has published 10 articles in international peer-reviewed journals and 9 articles in national peer-reviewed journals.

He was born in 1977 in Tokat. He graduated from Tokat Anatolian Teacher High School with honors in 1995. In 1999 he graduated from Erciyes University Engineering Faculty Department of Electronic Engineering with honors. He began to work as a lecturer in Gaziosmanpasa University Turhal Vocational High School in 2001. He served as division vice president between 2003-2005, Assistant Manager between 2005-2010. In 2007, he completed his master thesis “The investigation of mechanical properties of BSCCO superconductor by dynamic microhardness method” in Gaziosmanpasa University Science and Technology Institute. In 2014, he completed his PhD education “Variable rotation wind turbine modeling with finite elements method by using shape memory alloys” in Ege University Solar Energy Institute. That same year, he started working as an Assistant Professor in Gaziosmanpasa University Engineering and Natural Sciences Faculty Electric-Electronic Engineering Department. He is currently faculty member of the Electromagnetic Field and Microwave Techniques Department. He has national and international studies about renewable energy resources, wind turbine and wind energy. He has many duties as executive and researchers in scientific projects.

He was born in Tokat in 1974. He completed his primary, secondary and high school in Tokat. He graduated from Marmara University Faculty of Technical Education in 1996. He worked as a teacher in Nallıhan Technical and Industrial Vocational High Schools Department of Electrical between 1996 and 1998. Then, he began to work as a lecturer in Gaziosmanpasa University in 2000. In Marmara University Faculty Institute of Pure and Applied Sciences, he completed his master thesis “The speed control of alternative current servo motor using different control methods” in 2009 and his PhD thesis “Fault Diagnosis in Induction Motors using Discretization Methods And Artifıcial Neural Network” in 2012. The same year, he started working as an Assistant Professor in Gaziosmanpasa University Engineering and Natural Sciences Faculty Electric-Electronic Engineering Department. He is currently faculty member of the Electrical Machinery Department. He has national and international studies about Control of Electrical Machines, Fault Diagnosis of Electrical Machines, Wind Turbine and Wind Energy.He has many duties as executive and researchers in scientific projects.

He was born in 1972 in İzmir. He graduated from Izmir Çınarlı Technical High School in 1990. He completed Gazi University Technical Education Faculty Computer Systems Education Department, in 1995. Between 1995 and 1998 he worked as a Computer Teacher at the Ministry of National Education. He worked as an Instructor at Dokuz Eylül University, Izmir Vocational School between 1998 and 2011. In 2011, he started to work as a lecturer at the Department of Computer and Instructional Technology at Manisa Celal Bayar University, Faculty of Education. In 2012, he completed his doctorate with his thesis entitled “Identifying and Optimization of System Characteristics for Autonomous Wind Turbines” at Ege University Solar Energy Institute and received his title as Assistant Professor. Between 2012-2016, he was the head of the department of Computer and Instructional Technologies and a member of Faculty Board. In 2013, he was a guest lecturer at the Brunel University Faculty of Engineering, Design and Physical Sciences (London / UK) to conduct an academic study on solar-wind hybrid energy systems for 3 months. He has been the director of Manisa Celal Bayar University Köprübaşı Vocational School since 2014. He has published 2 articles in international peer-reviewed journals and 3 articles in national peer-reviewed journals and presented papers in 6 international and 3 national scientific meetings. In addition, he advised on 1 projects and made a researcher for 3 projects within national R & D projects (TUBITAK, RDA, SRP, etc). His academic interests are computer, automatic control and renewable energy.

Ege University Solar Energy Institute  Energy Technology Department

 

He was born in 1983 in Hatay. He graduated from Hatay Kurtuluş High School in 2000. After completing the Department of Mathematics in Computer Science at Ege University, Faculty of Science in 2006, he worked as Software and Database Specialist in private sector. In 2008, she started her graduate education at Ege University Solar Energy Institute and as a researcher at TÜBİTAK projects. Since 2011, he has been working as a research assistant in solar and wind energy technologies at Ege University Solar Energy Institute. Firat Salmanoğlu, who is continuing his doctorate studies in this area, also has a R&D company about solar and wind technologies, which is located on Technopark. Also he has national and international publications on optimum design and modeling of Renewable Energy Sources, photovoltaic and wind power systems. He is also researcher in various scientific projects.

He was born in Fatsa in 1987. He graduated from Fatsa Anatolian High School in 2005. In 2009, he completed the Electrical-Electronics Engineering Department of Dumlupınar University. In 2008, he studied at the University of Dalarna in Sweden for 6 months with a state grant as an Erasmus student. He worked as Electrical Engineer at TOKİ (Mass Housing Administration) sites in Evyap Construction between 2010-2011. In 2011, he completed his master’s thesis titled “Fault Analysis in Transformer by Using Electronic Nose” in Dumlupınar University, Institute of Science. In the same year, he started to work as an Instructor in Dumlupınar University Kütahya Technical Sciences Vocational High School. In 2016, he completed his PhD thesis titled “Control of Wind-Photovoltaic Hybrid Power Systems with Artificial Neural Networks” at Ege University Solar Energy Institute. He had been working as a scholarship student for 1 TUBITAK project and 2 Scientific Research Project (BAP) throughout his graduate education. Currently, he is working as a lecturer at Dumlupınar University Kütahya Technical Sciences Vocational High School, where he teaches Control Systems, Computer Aided Circuit Design, Computer Aided Circuit Drawing and Sensors &Transducers. Besides, he is  working in the field of Sensor System Design, Power Electronics Circuit Design, Renewable Energy System Design. There are 2 publications published in international journals. There are 5 papers  presented at national and international meetings.

He was born in Tokat in 1970. He completed his primary, secondary and high school education in Tokat. In 1992, he completed the Department of Electronics and Computer Education at Gazi University Technical Education Faculty. Between 1992-1994, he worked as Tokat Telekom Directorate and between 1994-1997 he worked as Electronic Teacher in the Ministry of National Education. Between 1997 and 2010, he worked as a lecturer at Tokat Vocational School. He received his master’s degree from Sakarya University, Institute of Science and Technology, Department of Electronics-Computer Education between 2000-2003. Between 2004-2009, he completed his Ph.D. degree in Industrial Technology Education Department of Gazi University Institute of Science and Technology. In 2010, Gaziosmanpaşa University Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences Department of Mechatronics Engineering Assist. Assoc. Dr. was appointed as. He still works in the same department. His research interests are Automation Systems, RF Technologies, Semiconductor Devices, Internet of Things and Visible Light Communication. By the year 2016, 7 graduate students have graduated. There is an internationally renowned magazine editorial, 11 publications in internationally acclaimed journals and 8 reports at national and international scientific meetings. He is married and has 3 children.

He completed Kocaeli University Computer Education Department of Technical Education Faculty in 1999. He worked as trainer and technical staff in the Enes Computer Education Center in İzmit/Kocaeli for a period of 2 years from  1997-1998. He started to working as lecturer in the Manisa Celâl Bayar University at 05 January 2000. Between the years 2002 – 2004, he worked as computer sciences trainer in the Elginkan Foundation, Ümmehan Elginkan Vocational and Technical Education Center in Manisa. In the Manisa Celâl Bayar University Kırkağaç Vocational School; Between the years 2005 – 2008, he served as Proxy of Executive Secretary of School, between the years 2005 – 2011, he served as Head of Computer Technologies and Programming Division, between the years 2005 – 2014, he was member of Board of School and member of School Administrative Commitee. From 2011-2014 he assumed Manisa Celâl Bayar University Deputy Director of Kırkağaç Vocational School.  In 2003, he completed his master’s thesis “Financial Problems of SME’s in Footwear Manufacturing Sector And An Application in Manisa Region”  in Manisa Celâl Bayar University Institute of Social Science. In the same institute, his PhD thesis is continue. He has national papers about Cryptology algorithms, financial problems of middle and small sized enterprises, costing methods in enterprises, marketing, financing methods. He worked as a researcher within Manisa Celal Bayar University Scientific Resaerch Projects Unit in 2008. He has pressed lecturer notes about office softwares. In the year 2014, he qualified to “Cisco Certified Academy Instructor” title.

He was born in Kars in 1976. He graduated from Sivas Selçuk Anatolian High School in 1994. He completed Middle East Technical University, Engineering Faculty, Electrical and Electronic  Engineering Department in 1999. He worked as a Lecturer at Cumhuriyet University in 1999. Between the years 2000-2011, he kept working as an Engineer, Chief engineer and Director at GEDİZ Electric Distribution Company  respectively. In 2003, he completed his master’s thesis about Grid Connected Photovoltaic Systems  in EGE University. In 2014, He completed his PhD education “Determination of Harmonic Contributions from Photovoltaic Systems by Analytical and Statistical Methods ” in Ege University Solar Energy Institute. In 2011, he started working at Ege University Solar Energy Institute. He is still continuing his studies in the Department of Energy Technology on Grid Connected Photovoltaic Systems. He has served in positions for 4 projects, advised on 6 projects within national R & D projects. He has published and presented 5 articles in international peer-reviewed journals, peer-reviewed journals and at national and international meetings.

    Kindly fill-in the Travel Information Forms with the correct information for all supervisors, students and guests who will be attending the competition. International Alija Izzetbegovic Olimpiad Organizers will not be held liable for inconveniences brought about as a result of lack of information or wrong information provided in your Travel Information Forms.

    2. Accommodation
    As we informed earlier, the hotel is Marma, in Istanbul.

    The rooms will be organized as follows;

    ·      3 people per room.

    ·      Ladies and Gentlemen will be accommodated in separate rooms (Please indicate in the travel information form, on the remarks section, the people you intend to stay with. the same applies for married couples who wish to stay together.)

    ·      Supervisors who wish to stay with their students should also indicate this in the Travel Information Forms.

    ·      DO NOT book directly to the hotel for the period 18th May –

    3. Visa Process
    All participants should carry their invitation letters and parentconsent letters to show at the airport in order to be issues with a visa. Participants from Category 3 countries should bring with them a copy of the visa permission letter that was issued to them earlier.
